An Inspiring eBay Seller Success Story

by Lynn Dralle on June 14, 2010

Hi Everyone,

I received a letter a few months back that really touched me and I’d like to share it with all of you.  I hope you find it as inspiring as I did!

Hi Lynn,

I have been wanting to write to you for some time now. I am finally taking the time!!

I have been selling on eBay off and on for about 10 yrs. I have spurts of gung ho and then I would get tired of it and quit. I could never find my niche. I would make a small amount of money, but I had hopes of making good money and one day selling full time on eBay.

In Feb 2009, I happened to stop at a close out sale in a small shop and visited with the owner. He sold on eBay. We began to talk. He told me about you

and told me I should read your books. I wrote down your name and went home and got online and found everything I could about you. I ordered your books and tapes. I even ordered an old magazine off eBay that had a one page article about you. I paid about $5 for that book with shipping and tore out the one page.

In Feb 2009 I made a profit of $175 on eBay. March I made $579. April I made $1014. I have not had a month under $1000 since I read your books and watched your tapes. My highest profit in a month was Jan 2010 with $1904.

I have since bought a used copy of your Boot Camp in a Box. I loved it.  I more recently bought your three part Dinnerware e-book. If I had that sooner, I would not have bought some of the dishes that I have sitting in my eBay room.

When I first read your material, I took a deep breath and started listing things, lots of things!! I saw that you were right. The more you list, the more you sell. I had never bought any dishes  to sell until I read your material. Dinnerware has been good to me.

I have outgrown my one bedroom area and now have a storage building full of boxes and packing material. We are having a pole barn built with the entire back area for my eBay inventory. I can see in my future that I can make a good living by selling on eBay.

I am almost 60 years old. I work full time. I plan to retire in two yrs and do eBay full time and I cannot wait.

I have registered for the eBay on location in Dallas in May. The only reason I am coming is to hear you speak and by chance get to meet you!! My husband is so tired of me quoting you!!  He actually read the first part of the dinnerware book!!  He is as amazed by you as I am.

My husband and I yard sale together and that is where I get the largest portion of my inventory. He helps me buy, but I do everything else. I live in a very small town and have to drive at least 30 miles to yard sale every week-end.

Just wanted to tell you what a positive impact you have had on my life and my finances.  I will continue to follow you and read everything that you write.

Thanks, Lynn.

Great job Kathy!!  Please please keep me posted on how well you’re doing, and when you retire (lucky you!) definitely let me know how your eBay sales go when you’re doing it full time!

I hope everyone is doing well with their sales, if you have your own success story send it in or post it to my Facebook notes section on www.Facebook.com/TheQueenOfAuctions so everyone will get to see it!

Happy eBaying!

~Lynn
